The Creek
I was unable to post pictures for a couple of days because of computer issues, but I managed to fix things. Yay!! This is a creek near our house. This has more water in it than many of the other areas of the creek. Joey and I took a short walk along the water, but of course it was too hot for walking a nice long walk.

Cake Redux
Here is the Chocolate & Zucchini cake that I completely messed up yesterday. I gave it another try and here is the result. I borrowed a bundt cake pan from my aunt because I don't have one and I have never used one before. The larger pan did the trick, the ingredients did not overflow all over the place. I am learning the power of baking powder, it creates a volcanic type of eruption. Use with caution!!!! The cake is moist and delicious. Chocolate and zucchini with a bit of orange and walnuts as well, a great combination. The glaze is a confection sugar with vanilla extract. I got the recipe from here where I get many of my recipes. There is also a website called chocolate & zucchini that is fun to visit.

Weekend Cow Blog #4
The cows have been moved to the front field, so this is the view from our front porch. It's a nice night with the sun just going down. The grass is so green from the last couple of rain storms we have had. This morning was foggy, the first time since we got to MO. It cleared up by the end of the day. I managed to go to the Farmers Market this morning with Joey and Mom, I got some more goodies. I got some zucchini so I could make a chocolate and zucchini cake. I got home and put the recipe together and it was just beautiful. Unfortunately I put it in a baking dish that was not large enough so it fully overflowed and was ruined. What a brown chocolatey mess. I was really bummed, but I will not give up. I will try it again.
Cousins
Joey and Rowan are playing with the hose, having a great time. The sun is just starting to go down and it is a little cooler. A lovely summer night. I took a couple of other cute pictures you can see them here. They were both so focused on the hose and the water, they did not notice much else until I came along to take the pictures.

Purple and White
Here we have some lovely onions from the Farmer's Market. The market is about 35 miles away from here, not a quick run to the market. But I am very glad I went, I bought so many things. They are all so pretty I can't stop taking pictures of everything. I recently carmelized onions to put on a pizza and they were so good I bought about 5 differnt kinds of onions at the market. I have a goal of keeping a recipe book of all the yummmie things I make with pretty pictures of the finished food item. Great idea, we'll see how long it lasts. I will have to search for a way to use these lovely onions, I will let you know if I make something worth putting in my recipe book.
Blackberry Muffins
Fresh blackberries from the Farmer's Market. I got the recipe from here I substituted plain yogurt for the sour cream. Seemed to work fine. The muffins are very good. Some of the berries were a bit tart, but the muffin helped sweeten them up!!! Good summertime fun.

Ha Ha You Can't See Me
Joey standing in his fort that he is building. He has the walls up and needs to work on getting the structure lined up correctly. Not an easy task when you are doing most of the work yourself. It is located in an area with a nice view. He has not been able to work on it as much as he would like because of the heat. I think I need a fort too!!!!
