Joey is sitting, actually he is squating next to his pumpkin plant he planted from a seed when we first arrived here in MO. It is the only one that came up from all the pumpkin seeds he planted. He is very proud of it. I am waiting for the germination of the seeds I planted. I will take exciting photos of their progress.

My dad is coming to visit us from New York. He is driving and is expected to arrive at my brothers house sometime tonight, the last time I heard from him he was in O-hi-o.

It's 93 degrees today. Slip and Slide.

Summer Sunset Sky

Pretty clouds. Later that night there was a huge thunder and lightning storm. I watched the whole thing out the window from my bed. Bright lights flashing with bolts of lightning.

Betty & Joey

Betty is so sweet, she likes it when we brush and pet her. The white one in the back is not as friendly. Maybe eventually.

A view of the garden. I planted zuchinni, parsley and cabbage yesterday. I hope they are able to grow to maturity, but will be glad to see anything at all at this late date. There is also the possiblity of creating little green houses in the garden to help things along later in the season. Wouldn't that be nice??

Cleaning up the Garden

Here is the garden space I have to work with. It is a little late in the season to get anything going so I will have to figure out what to do with the space before it starts filling up with weeds again. I was hoping to plant some squash and something else to help keep the weed problem down.

Two Goats by My Side

I went over to Rogers place to get some fresh basil and herbs for a pizza I made today. I made a zuchini pizza with local goat cheese, the basil from Roger and an onion I bought locally. It was soooo good. I took a picture of these goats on my way out. They are very cute. I had to leave quickly because dark clouds and thunder were heading our way.

Pizza Ingredients
crust made locally (very good)
marinara sauce
mozarella cheese
yellow and green zuchini
purple basil
goat cheese (sprinkled on top)
yellow onion sliced
drizzled with oil
fresh ground pepper
